ASTM A249 TP 304L Boiler Tubes are made from a low carbon version of the 304 material. The material has 18% chromium and 8% nickel in the composition. This composition provides the pipes with high corrosion resistance and strength. The Stainless Steel 304L Pipe has high melting point of 1350 degrees Celsius and it can withstand high temperatures as well. The material composition also includes carbon, silicon, manganese, sulfur and phosphorus. The composition provides the material with 205 MPa minimum yield strength and 415 MPa tensile strength. The pipes range in diameter from ½ inches to 36 inches. There are seamless, ERW and EFW pipe types. The stainless steel 304l Welded Tubing is also available. The welded pipes and tubes are made from sheets, foils, coils and plates of the same grade of material by welding them end to end.

There are different forms such as round, square, rectangular and hydraulic types. The DIN 1.4301 Round Pipe is the most used and is cost efficient. The 304l material also has lower carbon and reduces the possibilities of grain formation during welding. The material does not require pre heating or post weld heat treatment after welding. The 304L Stainless Steel Heat Exchanger Tubes are used in heat exchangers. The pipes can also be seen in power generation plants, nuclear power plants, oil and gas, petrochemical and in other general engineering applications.
